The Thrifty Groove - Bloggerversary Giveaway!

Diann at "The Thrifty Groove" is having a great bloggerversary give away. She is giving away a pair of great Rooster plates she found on clearance at TJ Maxx.  The really great thing about this blog is that she passes along her great shopping inspiration to the rest of us.  You really need to check it out!  Thanks Diann!

Tablescapes at the Women's Retreat

For Tablescape Thursday I want to share all the lovely tablescapes we recently saw at a Women's Retreat my church hosted.  At this retreat we had women volunteer to set tables, and they could use any theme they wanted.

Here are the lovely results starting with a festive red Fiesta Ware table.

I didn't check to see who made these plates, but I loved the beautiful colors.  Notice the heart suckers in the candelabra.  They were a joke played on the hostess.  They were later replaced with candles.

This group set their table later so I got a pic of them at the party.

A lovely spring table.
I loved this table.  The napkins and plates were all disposable.  And it still was so lovely.

A Noritake black and white table.

A Frankoma and Amber Sandwich glass table.

This group also set their table later.  I love that they brought their own chairs and used a quilt for a table cloth to give it a homey feel.

My southwest multi-color Fiesta Ware table. This was a last minute addition, because we needed extra seating.  Later Spree candy was sprinkled around the table and at each place setting in little cups.

This is my Valentine themed table.

A few of the great little touches.

Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting our party today!

Valentine's Table

It is another week, and I have decided that I really need to be better about posting in a timely fashion.  Apologies to my followers, and I promise to try to do better.  I have pictures lined up that I just need to get posted, so I hope to be able to do that over the next several weeks, so be sure to check back.  Thanks to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting Tablescape Thursday.  It is fun to be able to join all of the other bloggers with fabulous tablescapes, and it is fun to get great new ideas for my table.  Be sure to check out all the other great tablescapes.

I found this pretty open work teapot, sugar and creamer at Ross and fell in love.  I am still looking for cups and saucers that will work with them.  I found these at 'The Teapot Shoppe,' but would like to find something less expensive.

At another time I found the cupid candle holders that matched.  Of course, I picked them up.  I think it makes a pretty setting on my server cabinet.

And here it is all lit up!  Beautiful!

The table was set with a black cloth to create a "black-tie" effect with the white and red.

The cut work bowl with two dozen roses match the cut work on the server.

Little details such as cards with scripture verses about love, hearts on the wine stems, rose petals and angels on the table add a few special touches.

The red goblet with etch-work came from Hobby Lobby, and the wine glasses came from Ross.  The cordial with etched spirals are from Godiva.
I think the cordials will compliment to a yummy chocolate dessert nicely.

The red toile farm scene salt and pepper shakers were purchased on ebay.  They are just beautiful.

Each place setting has red glass chargers purchased at Hobby Lobby, white Ceramiche Virginia dinner plates with raised daisies, and red transferware Haddon Hall by Johnson Bros. bread plates.  There is little heart trinket boxes purchased last year on ebay and a Dove dark chocolate heart also at each place setting.

 And now...by candlelight

Happy Valentine's Day!
